We’re making good progress in improving the energy efficiency of our homes as part of our Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) project.
Since the project began last year, we’ve started installing energy efficiency improvement measures in almost 100 properties.
The SHDF project aims to improve the energy efficiency of our customers’ homes, bringing them up to an Energy Performance Rating (EPC) C.
We’ve identified nearly 600 homes to carry out the improvement works on, having secured £6.2 million from the government as part of the SHDF programme.
By the end of last year, we’d started work on 97 homes, of which 25 had been completed.
More than 500 individual energy efficiency improvement measures have been approved for installation, ranging from cavity wall insulation to new doors and windows and of these, over 250 have been installed to date.
Jo-ann Stother, SHDF Programme Manager, said: “I’m really pleased with the progress being made on the SHDF project, which is helping to make a real difference to our customers.
“By improving the energy efficiency of their homes, the property is easier to heat and will retain that warmth for longer.
“This is vital in periods of cold weather like we’re experiencing currently, so I’d like to thank everyone involved in the project so far for the work they’ve done to achieve such rapid progress.”
